MCTC hosted its seventeenth annual birthday tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. at the Basilica of St. Mary’s cathedral on January 16th. The celebration featured a speech by actor Lou Gossett Jr., gospel music performed by James Grear & Company, the Nu Friends Community Choir, Young Hands for Christ and 4 Given, an a cappella youth group.

An article appeared recently in The Nation magazine that was chilling enough to raise the hairs on the back of ones neck, and send a dire shiver down the spine. Kathryn Joyce writes about evangelism, and I must pay my respect for her lack of bias, in an article called, “The Quiverfull Conviction.”
A small and peaceful coffee house is located on Hennepin Avenue just half a block from Minneapolis Community and Technical College, an institution that prides itself on accepting and acclimating to peoples of all abilities, ethnicities, and walks of life.
