First Day

It seems as though it was a million years ago. I must have been about 19 years old and it was my first day in college. I was very shy at that time, and a bit anxious about meeting so many new people and navigating around the unfamiliar school. I was a few minutes early for my first class so I thought I’d slip into the ladies room.

MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 5, 2009) — Freshman point guard Freddie Burton hit clutch free throws to lift the Minneapolis Community and Technical College over the Northland Pioneers in men’s basketball team this afternoon at Bowman Hall. The Mavericks improved to 6-1 while the Pioneers fell to 5-2.

Women defeat Northland to stay perfect

MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 5, 2009) — Sierra Howard (Fr., Bloomington, Minn.) led all scorers with 18 points and 13 rebounds as the Minneapolis Community and Technical College Mavericks defeated the Northland Community and Technical College in women’s basketball action this afternoon at Bowman Hall.

Men’s Basketball Gameday: December 5, 2009

The Minneapolis Community and Technical College men’s basketball team hosts Northland Community and Technical College today in Bowman Hall. The Mavericks (5-1) tip off with the Pioneers (6-1) at 3 p.m. The Mavericks defeated the Itasca Vikings last night, while the Pioneers defeated Anoka Ramsey 79-77 in overtime.

Women’s Basketball Gameday: November 5, 2009

The Minneapolis Community and Technical College women’s basketball team hosts Northland Community and Technical College today in Bowman Hall. The Mavericks (6-0) tip off with the Pioneers (3-4) at 1 p.m. The Mavericks defeated the Itasca Vikings last night, while the Pioneers lost to 76-41 to Anoka Ramsey.

Mavericks defeat Itasca Vikings in Men’s Basketball

MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 4, 2009 — Michael Welch (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) led all scorers with 26 points as the Minneapolis Community and Technical College Mavericks defeated the Itasca Community College Vikings 77-57 in men’s basketball action tonight in Bowman Hall.

Women come from behind to defeat the Vikings by 20

MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 4, 2009) — The Minneapolis Community and Technical College women’s basketball team came back in dramatic fashion to defeat the Itasca Community College Vikings in Bowman Hall on Dec. 4. The Vikings led by as as many as 10 during the first half, but the Mavs cut the lead to four at the half.
