MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 28, 2010) — A single elimination tournament can be brutal for loosing teams, for once you have lost, there are no more games. At the beginning of the day, only one team could move on to the national tournament in Delhi, New York. That team was the Rochester Yellow Jackets.

MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 27) — He may not had the most points on the team, but Freddie Burton came through in the clutch to lift the Minneapolis Community and Technical College Mavericks over the Central Lakes College Raiders by a 69-63 in MCAC men’s basketball tournament action today in Bowman Hall.

MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 26, 2010) — Peter Olafeso (So., St. Paul, Minn.) led all scores with 29 points and ten rebounds as MCTC defeated Vermilion Community College 88-67 in MCAC men’s basketball tournament action tonight in Bowman Hall. The game was the fourth and last quarterfinal game of the day.

United Tribes, a Division II team from Bismarck, N.D. had just six players suit up, but managed to keep the game close through much of the first and seconds half before mounting a late rally to claim the win. The Mavericks led by as much as 12 early in the first half.
