As the new Director of Communications, there are a few things I have started on. For example, will be reviving the Information Technology Committee.

The first meeting will be Nov. 2 in room H.2500. We will continue to meet bi-weekly from that date. The IT committee will be discussing ways to improve student senates’ access to D2L, updating the information put on MCTC’s Student Life home page, and finding new innovative ways to reach out to the student body.

President Karter and I have met with Jim Brennan, who works with D2L, and he has permitted us access to a Senate D2L page. This will allow us to better develop the existing page, so after Senate club members have been added they will receive this feed directly onto their personal D2L account.

I have already started a Student Senate Snapchat, feel free to spread the word! Our username is @MCTC_Senate.
