Bret Starnes and Randy Bratvold, two film and video students at MCTC, are the recipients of two $1,000 dollar grants awarded by the Minnesota Film and TV Board.
MCTC Band of the Week: These little nothings
This semester, a student from each of the Sound Arts, Screen Writing, and Media Production programs will receive a $500 scholarship as part of the US Federal Credit Union Production Excellence Award.
MCTC will be distributing $75,000 in childcare grant money beginning this March and going through September 07′.
February 14th, 2007, St. Paul – Students from MCTC assembled with an estimated 1,000 from the rest of Minnesota’s community and technical colleges and state universities for a Wednesday march on the State Capitol protesting annual tuition hikes.

On January 17, the Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives passed an agenda item on their list of priorities for the first one hundred hours of the new session that directly affects a lot of the students here at MCTC and college students throughout the country.
Three students have proposed a new club to the Student Senate that has grown out of the Western Clinical Herbalism program. The Herbal Enrichment for Restoring Balance, or H.E.R.B. Club, hopes to teach students how to grow organic gardens, ways of sustainable living, and alternative medical practices.
