About City College News

City College News is the award-winning student news organization of Minneapolis Community and Technical College. It exists to give a voice to and safeguard the rights and liberties of the Minneapolis College community through a commitment to truth and fairness in reporting. CCN’s core values include truth, ethics, fairness, leadership, competition, the right to criticize, and responsibility.

Articles and photos are published regularly on CCN’s web site, citycollegenews.com, as well as on its mobile app. In addition, CCN aims to compile the best and most important content in regular e-publications and in a final newsprint publication each semester.

In addition to serving its readers, CCN provides free basic journalism training to all students who want it through its Reporter Training Program and at regular staff meetings, which currently take place via Zoom each Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. In-person meetings, when they occur, are held in CCN’s office in the Helland Center, H.2901.
